SAD's Self Administered Drugs B or D or Nothing?

I have client who was in hospital and received a bill over 2 K for SAD's Self Administered Drugs taken in hosp. Neither her supplement nor Medicare paid anything. I was just told by Med sup rep (sounded like he didn't know anything) It is just simply not something that is covered by anything because its self administered

I am sure that cant be Is this something Part D would pay?
