Dialysis Patients As Niche Market?

I've written a couple dialysis patients and they were so happy and surprised that they could get coverage it got me thinking about focusing on this as a niche. While I know there's a need, I'm not sure how to find prospects short of going to the dialysis clinics and asking to leave information. Anyone out there have any experience I might learn from as far as approach and dealing with gate keepers?
