Carl Icahn: AIG “Too Big to Succeed”

Yesterday billionaire investor Carl Icahn (large stakeholder in AIG) issued an open letter to Peter Hancock, CEO of AIG, telling him that AIG is “too big to succeed” and that he should “immediately pursue, in the quickest and most efficient manner, a separation of both life and mortgage insurance from the core P&C business.”

Would take AIG out of the dreaded non-bank SIFI designation. AIG set to release 3Q earnings Nov. 2.
