Nebraska Lowers Requirements for Selling Funeral Insurance

[I]A change in Nebraska law that takes effect Aug. 30 sets a lower amount of training and continuing education that funeral directors and others must take to maintain licenses that let them sell only funeral insurance.

The number of directors offering the insurance might increase by 20 to 25 percent in the wake of the new regulation, said William Lauber, legislative chairman and past president of the Nebraska Funeral Directors Association.
