I have a client that just died a couple weeks ago. Her son is the beneficiary.
he says his mom told him a couple weeks before she died that she had two more life insurance policies that h was the beneficiary on and they were paid up. They were supposedly in her safe deposit box at the bank.
They have now gotten access to the safe deposit box and there are no policies in there. He doesn't know what companies they are with or anything other than she said it was 2 $10K polices.
Where would one start to locate old policies. I directed him to the state DOI. He is calling them today.
