Federal Employee Spouse Lose Coverage when Employee Dies?

Appointment set for later this week, referred to sibling of a very good client who is concerned that if the spouse, federal retiree dies, she will lose coverage. Turning 65 soon, wants to know if will still have good options at later age if spouse dies first.

I am going "just because", to look over the current coverage. These things are always a good learning tool for me anyway.

I thought federal employee spouses would have coverage for life, too, like military full retirees/spouses.
