I have a case where we have husband and wife- husband has 36 quarters, which makes him eligible for a discounted Part A premium. Wife was planning to use husbands benefits since she has no quarters.
Husband was approved and has his Medicare card. Wife's is no where to be found. SSA is sending them on a wild goose chase and will not give a straight answer to what the hold up is.
My question- is this even possible? Can wife use husbands Medicare benefits since he is partially paying for A? Will she also be paying discounted A premium or will she need to do her own and pay the full amount?
