New Medigap Inovative "riders"

I was working with a client the other day on a Med Supp Plan G and was informed by the client that Physicians Mutual maybe Sterling has a "extra benefit rider" mandatory on the Plan G.

Preventative Care, Dental Cleaning, Hearing Test benefit. It basically states they will pay what Medicare does not pay on preventative care. It was also printed on the bottom of the Outline of Coverage.

If all Medigap plans are Standardized then how can this be? Could someone shine some light on this subject.
